This will be a two-semester class of Algebraic Combinatorics. The first two parts of the book Monomials written by Herzog and Hibi which is under preparation, will be the focus of the first semester and the next part of the book will be covered in the second semester.

There will be two hours of lectures per week. As we believe strongly in active learning, all participants must attend the whole course according to the schedule below. Each participant must give some lectures and the core of the class will be spent on discussion. The pace of the lectures will be generally brisk and the students are expected to work hard outside the classroom. The participants of the lectures should study the lectures to keep up with the class.

Every Thursdays -- First session: 10:00-10:50, Break: 10:50-11:10, Second session: 11:10-12:00

Problem solving is vital for this class. We will try to work on as many problems as possible from the textbook. We will actively seek groups of volunteers to report their solutions in the problem sessions.
