New method for synthesis of gold, silver and copper nanoparticles array by co-deposition of RF-sputtering and RF-PECVD from acetylene gas and corresponding metal target is introduced. It was found that the nanoparticles concentration increases with reduction in initial gas pressure and increase in RF power. In this method the deposition of nanoparticles is carried out at room temperature without any harmful chemical reaction on the substrate. Acetylene gas pressure plays an important role in metal sputtering, particles size, inter-particle distance and the immobilizing of them on the substrate. The Localized Surface Plasmon Resonance (LSPR) of noble metal nanoparticles depends not only on the metal, the size and shape of the nanoparticle, but also on the surrounding local dielectric of nanoparticles and inter-nanoparticle coupling interactions. By utilizing these properties, the prepared nanoparticles array was utilized as gas and bio-sensors based on LSPR. Copper-copper oxide core-shell nanoparticles array was used to detect CO gas. Gold nanoparticles array was utilized to detect interaction protein and bio-molecules. Silver nanoparticles array was used to detect DNA primer decamer (ten-deoxycytosine) at fM concentrations.
