Abstract: | |
The dynamics of a deformed sine-Gordon system which exhibits soliton confinement is studied. Strictly speaking, the system is not integrable, but the solitary wave solutions are stable and poccess internal structure roughly similar to the confined partons. The consistuent sub-kinks have non-integral charge and evolves toward a stable configuration if the total charge is non-vanishing. Neutral sub-kink-anti-kink configurations are unstable and gradually decay into outgoing wavelets.
